Sweet diabetes

Sweet diabetes is the disease of endocrine system of man, caused by the deficit of insulin hormone that is secreted by organism or due its low activity. The existing classification of diabetes is represented by several types of this disease: 1st type is insulin-dependent and 2nd type is insulin-indpendent. First type of diabetes appears in men younger 40 years and it's manifested by insufficient insulin secretion. Second type of diabetes appears in age over 40 years and also is manifested by decreasing of secretion of insulin. Diabetes of second type can be diagnosed for people with excessive weight. It shows the quick decrease of insulin activity, which leads to increasing of blood sugar level.

Does the sweet food cause diabetes?

There is no clear answer why the diabetes appears. However, the scientists found few factors proving proneness to this disease appearance, among which there is an inherited proneness, excessive weight, viral diseases, age and stress.

Many people believe that excessive consumption of sweet products causes the diabetes. In fact, the actual reason is not the amount of sugar or sweet products, but the excessive weight. And it does not matter why it happened: from cakes or BBQ. Nevertheless, a big amount of sweet will lead to adiposis, that is why, the foods, containing digestible carbohydrates should be limited to prevent the appearance of diabetes.

Sweeties in diabetes mellitus

Sweeties in diabetes mellitusThe diabetes treatment implies another way of life, including sport (with some limitations), special diet, medications and constant control of the blood sugar level.

The diet of diabetic calls for a rational nutrition, that helps to normalize blood sugar level and restore the metabolism in the patient's organism. The consumption of digestible carbohydrates, which are contained in various sweeties (sugar, jams, honey, confiture, goodness, candies etc), as well as fruits and berries (raisins, bananas, dates, grapes) should be limited in the first turn. The glucose in these foods is quickly soaked by blood and it leads to a significant worsening of the patient's health. Sometimes doctors recommend to exclude this group of foods from the diet completely, but it is necessary in hard forms of disease only. In case of light and average severity of the disease, to patient is allowed to consume the sweet foods in limited quantities under condition of strict blood sugar level control.

It is highly undesirable to consume the sweet foods, that contain a lot of carbohydrates and fats, for example, chocolate, cream ice, cakes, cream cakes, etc. It is a well-proven fact that high level of fats promotes to progress and development of the disease, that is why these products should be excluded from the diet completely.

Instead of sugar patient should consume sweeteners and special diabetic sweeties (candies, marmalade, wafers), made by using of fructose. The sweeteners are sorbite, fructose, aspatame, saccharine, xylite and others. But the dosage of these substances should be limited and don't forget that many of them have counter-indications.

Treatment of sweet diabetes follows an individual scheme, which is developed by a professional specialist and which is based on the severity of the disease and the patient's health condition. Full and rigorous obeying to doctor's rules is the right step in direction of complete recovery.
